Yes this is a good idea as it's another opportunity for you to showcase your skills. Try not to use too much space on your CV - just highlight the key points maybe on the second page, after your employment details.

They're good to include, especially if the experience is relevant to the position you're currently in pursuit of. If I were to hire a receptionist and the applicant had never done that as work, but had performed the duties as part of a volunteer position, that will count with me.

Yeah that is a good thing to do to show that you have good communication with the community. That makes you a well rounded person.

Including voluntary jobs on your CV is a plus factor. It will give good impression to all employers reading it. I even emphasize job descriptions on my CV.

I think you should put volunteer work on a CV if it pertains in some way to the position for which you are applying. Many volunteer jobs provide people with the experience they need for the position for which they are applying.

If the volunteer work is relevant to the position, then I would include it, and elaborate on the work that you did and the experience you gained. If the work isn't relevant, then it is still worth mentioning, as long as you have room to do so.
I'd focus on things relevant to the job you're applying for first, and put the volunteer work in afterwards - even if it's just a brief mention that you do 'work for XYZ Organisation on a voluntary basis' - it shows you are passionate about what you do, and it gives you something to elaborate on in the interview. |

I know that some people choose voluntary jobs specifically to help them in their later search for work, so I think that there are definitely times when they should be included on a CV.
