My friend works for a local DIY store and was in charge of screening some applications when he came accross someone who wrote "Yes Please" as an answer for "Sex" on an application...needless to say, this went in the bin.
Why would anyone want to do this and who actually beleives it would help there application?? |

| Someone hoping that a rudimentary and juvenile sense of humour might get him an interview, would be my guess. Big surprise the application was trashed. |

| The other possibility is that the person didn't really want to apply for the job, but was being pushed into it by a parent, or even probation officer. They appeared to go through the motions of applying and so may have satisfied the person pushing them to apply, without risk of actually ending up with a job. |

That's a great post, britjojo, and something I hadn't thought of. |

| Yes I can agree with that one. He sound as if he just wasn't trying to be serious. OF course if someone was wanting to get a job they wouldn't jeopordize it by being silly. |

| I think the person lacks interest in applying a job. Or maybe he/she is not an educated person. If you're interested in applying a job, you'll avoid doing such mistakes. |

A few years ago I was tasked with helping the HR lady at a small company wade through hundreds of applications for a bi-lingual tech support job - one of the applicants had done the 'Yes please' thing, but, even more disturbing, they had sent a less than professional photograph of themselves in what I assume was meant to be a sensual pose along with it.
They were woefully underqualified for the job - lacking both the language skills and technical skills. I can only assume they were hoping that the team leader would be a male, and that they would get the job based on their other, ahem, assets...
They didn't - in fact the agency that had forwarded their CV got a stern telling off for wasting our time putting forward such dubious applicants. |
