I am about to leave the Forces and am looking at applying for jobs online. Ive just searched around and found literally hundreds and haven't got a clue where to start. :oops:

Hi firestorm, and welcome to our forums!

You're right - there are literally thousands of job sites online and it can seem a little daunting at first.

Have you tried searching for job sites that concentrate specifically in the industry you're interest in working in?

Another place to start would be looking in your local yellow pages and seeing if there are any agencies in your local area. Many people seem to forget about doing this and rely purely on internet job sites.

Alternatively, the major job sites, such as Reed, Monster and Fish4jobs are always a good place to start.

I would also go for the major job sites.

And besides that you can also try to find the companies directly! Most companies have a website, and most of them have a section "job applications" , or else you can always email them your cv and your interest. Try to google for a kind of company you want to work for and your location. For example "design company, new york". (but change the words to your location and interest)

Unfortunately, there is no one "specific" website we could recommend...there are literally thousands online. What might be good for one person, might not be so good for another.

Maybe search on Google for "recruitment *YOUR TOWN*" and see what comes up.

You could try craigslist.com and check city by city for listings. The first step is to decide what kind of job you want and where you want to work and then zero in on that. Good luck.
