Why would a company ask your ACT score?

During a phone interview once, the guy asked my ACT score. I found that so odd. I went to college and graduated with honors, why does an ACT score matter?

Has anyone else had this happen? I ended up canceling the formal interview because this company didn't allow women to wear pants to work. Crazy!

I worked for Kaplan test company and since the job was for creating and editing test questions my ACT and SAT scores were required as part of the application. For jobs like that where you will be teaching or some form of education I don't see it as out of line to ask for the scores.

I'm not sure but I've never been asked that before so chances are you wont hear it again.

I often think that interviewers don't know what they're doing and proves it by asking silly questions. Some people interviewing for a job might not even remember their scores. I sure don't and I don't think those scores are all that important anyway.

Skatss, it was a phone interview, but I could tell it was something he routinely asks. There must be a dumb company policy at his place.
