What is the best way for an obviously pregnant job applicant to land a job? I was in this position once and it was very difficult. During the first four months, I was able to conceal my pregnancy but I did tell my prospective employers that I was pregnant. I didn't get any jobs. When it was obvious that I was pregnant, it was even more difficult.

This is a difficult one. Although employers should not, in any way, discriminate against pregnant women, is does happen. However, not too much can be done as it is difficult, and often impossible to prove.
For more information on this subject, you should have a read through pregnant and looking for work.

Thanks for your reply. This is a problem I had about 30 years ago. Maybe these days, employers wouldn't discriminate like they did then. I had one job where my employer let me go the week after I told her I was pregnant.

In general, the treatment of pregnant women in the workplace has improved. However, as with everything, there are occasions where these rules don't apply.

It is hard for pregnant women to get a job. Many potential employers won't hire a pregnant woman because they know she will be gone for a month if not longer once she gives birth.
It is against the law but try to prove that it has happened to you.
