Is it acceptable?

    Can I ring the company if I only went to the interview last Tuesday? They said they'd be phoning applicants by Friday and I'm getting nervous as I haven't heard anything yet.

    I don't know whether it's past Friday on your time zone but giving them a day or two more won't hurt but still if its past friday i don't see any harm in calling and inquiring on the fate of the interview.

    I would call them as well as long as it's Monday or Tuesday. The worse that can happen is that they say the job was filled. You really have nothing to lose and a lot to gain.

    You don't want to be a pest, but there's nothing wrong with a follow-up call. A thank you note might work too.

    If it's past Friday, I'd call. If it's not past Friday, I wouldn't. You don't want to sound desperate.
