Drug testing

I don't think I will ever submit to drug testing unless the job pays extremely well...say over £100,000.00 per year. I would avoid any position that would require such invasive examination, even though I don't use drugs.

If you have submitted to drug testing, what made the process worthwhile for you? Was it the money? Status?

If you have never submitted, what would make it worth your while to do so?

  2. Yesterday a friend of ours said the company he works for does routine drug testing and tests all job applicants. He also said that 2 out of 3 applicants fail the test in the town where he lives. I guess they have a huge problem with drugs in that particular town. He is satisfied with the company and is paid very well. However, he won't live in that town and commutes 120 miles a day. He has four sons, so I can understand his not wanting to live there.

With the advent of the internet, I bet a lot of people start finding jobs that allow them to work without being an employee. No reason to test someone who isn't going to be covered by worker's compensation insurance!
