Appropriate Office Clothing

  1. What is considered the appropriate clothing to wear for an interview when applying for a position in an office. It used to be that skirts and dresses were practically mandatory for women. Is that still the case today? Has Senator Clinton made the pantsuit more acceptable for dressing up?

  2. Hi Ozzie, you might want to read our article on what ladies should wear at an interview.

  3. I read the article and I agree with the suggestions to keep things fairly simple when it comes to jewelry and neutral colors. It mentions wearing a dress or suit so I'm going to assume that a pantsuit for women is acceptable these days. Some of us just don't do dresses and suit skirts well and would be uncomfortable wearing them.

Pantsuits are probably your safest bet. A dress can change how people react to you, especially guys, even though they aren't supposed to see you any differently than they see other men.
