I'm writing an application now and I'm really not sure if I should include my motivation for applying for this job (it's great pay and great benefits).
Do I keep it non-salary focused or do I make it clear this is my motivation?

Hi Raven,
NEVER mention that you're only after the job for financial reasons - try and use this question to showcase your interest in the company / industry.
Raven,
You should probably come up with some reasons besides money that you might want the job. For instance, if it's something like customer service you can say you like to help people. You want to treat people the same way you like to be treated. You appreciate it when you receive efficient service and you want to give that to others.
Don't seem like you are only after the financial gains. This could be a truth that could hurt you.
Raven,
I agree with what everyone else has said! A company will be turned off if you say that your motivation is the money and the benefits. Try to think of other things that you like about the job.
You should come up with a good reason why you want the job but you should include a salary range somewhere. It gives the company an idea of what you would like. You can even give a salary range and say that you are willing to negotiate it. That usually works well.
