It seems a little difficult to me. I think most people would rather hire someone who walks into their business instead of someone who looks online. However I think the businesses may be missing out on a lot of great potential employees! The internet should be one of their best resources in finding new employees.

Anyone have luck looking for jobs online

I have looked for jobs online and have had some interviews from them. The only times I was hired for a job without having to go into the office for an interview was when the job was online itself. With these jobs the company looked at my resume to see if I could do what they asked for.
You re right though about companies that might miss out on a great employee just because that person couldn't get to the office for an interview.

Monster.com is where I found the job that I am at now. Some of the jobs that I have applied for before at this site they called me and did a phone interview but this company wanted to meet me and do a in person interview.

A good friend of my husband's got his current job by applying at Monster.com He is an engineer and received a notice the very next day after applying online for the job. They flew him to another state for the interview. I guess he had a really good resume!

I've gotten jobs online! But I wouldn't depend on that as my sole job hunting method. I've also gotten a job by calling on the phone.

You are always better off using as many job search tools as possible. You can always find a listing online and, if the company is nearby, simply go in to apply while you resume reaches their HR person as a fax or e-mail attachment.
Hopefully, no one will feel overwhelmed by this two pronged attack!
